Inverted Pyramid

In the Inverted Pyramid Style, the news article is written from the most important to least important. 

The first part of the article is the Lead. It is the opening paragraph that contains important information, including the 5Ws and 1H. 

The next part is called the body. This is an elabortation of the Lead. It gives detailed information about everything mentioned in the Lead.

The last part is the Tail. It consists of the least important information. It may even contain extra information that isn't directly related to the main event.

Article 1 :

Supreme Court allows pension to 32 former women officers of IAF

Lead - The SC on Wednesday ordered the union govt. to grant pension to women officers who fought 12 years to get reinstatement and permanent commission in the Indian Air Force.

Body - The women, represented by senior advocate Meenakshi Arora, along with other advocates pointed out the court's judgement in Babita Puniya case, upholding the right of women short service commission officers to be considered for permanent commission on par with their male colleagues.

Tail - The bench directed the IAF to consider the petitioners on the same footing with other officers and to grant pension benefits after considering their deemed service of 20 years.

Article 2 :

Kerala students cut hair over moral policing

Lead - Many female students at a college in Kerala's Kottayam district chopped their hair on Wednesday in protest over moral policing on 2 students.

Body - The victims, a male and a female, were attacked by a gang of youths who accused them of roaming around at night. While initially only 2 girls cut their hair, more girls joined later. The students also formed a human chain in their campus. The students stated that the demoinstration was held in solidarity with the victims and as a call to society to respond to such tragedies.

Tail - The victims were out, going to give clothes to a hospitalised friend. The police apprehended 3 suspects in the case and charged them with murder attempt and molestation.
